Annual Holiday Celebration One Of The South Bay’s Top Events

That’s the annual Holiday Fireworks show, which is set to take place on Sunday, Dec. 9.
The fireworks are the star on top of the tree, so to speak, of the season in the South Bay Beach Cities.
And it’s a sensational show featuring a Fourth of July-type of show over the Pacific Ocean in front of more than 10,000 people who are watching from the beach, the bars, The Strand and balconies during house parties.
Nearly every house in Manhattan Beach with a view of the ocean has a house party on this day.
The night begins with the arrival of Santa at 4 and it’s mostly a family and kids thing until Joe’s Band takes the stage at 6. The fireworks start at 7.
After they are over at 7:30, it’s a decidedly an adult thing, with the house parties kicking into full gear and the bars – in particular Shellback Tavern and Strand House right up from the pier – being packed with huge lines.
Needless to say, this is an event perfectly suited for singles. And every single person in the entire South Bay is at it, working hard not to be single. For that night, anyway. Well, maybe for the rest of the season. But not New Year’s Eve!
It’s also the final event of a big party weekend. Friday is the 12 Bars of Christmas in Hermosa Beach and Saturday is the Redondo Beach Boat Parade.
So if you want get in the holiday party spirit, then head to the South Bay Beach Cities this weekend.
