Derby Day In South Bay Along The King Harbor Waterfront

But, thanks to Berry Bly and Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach, you can at least pretend you are in the grandstands – or even in a luxury box – while watching the 145th Run For The Roses.
Bly and Shade are hosting a Kentucky Derby party on Saturday, May 4. The event goes from 1-6 p.m., and will no doubt be THE place to be in the South Bay for those who enjoy champagne, mint juleps and mingling with a classy crowd. All built around a two-minute horse race.
Like last year’s blockbuster event – read the PubClub review here – the event features a rooftop sky deck, open air ballroom, live music, Dj’s and themed decor for an event benefiting Walk With Sally.

There’s a $20 cover charge but don’t take your chances of there being tickets at the door; pay for the advance purchase when you hit the link at www.southbayderby.com.
Champagne brunch and VIP tables are available.
It’s highly advisable to show up in Derby attire. Ladies, that means a cocktail dress and the best big hat you can find (or buy). Gentlemen, this means don’t show up in your flip flops and tank tops; take it up a notch for this party.
It’s also nice to place some friendly wagers on the actual race – say, the round of drinks the rest of the day. Post time is 3:34 p.m.
This is event is presented by Morgan’s Jewelers.
