No More Live Music For Seaside Lagoon Fireworks

Yet one of the questions that inevitably comes up is regarding the fireworks in Redondo Beach and specifically Seaside Lagoon. That’s right under the fireworks and patriotic music is played to enhance the show.
But if you are considering going there know this: it’s an alcohol-free event in 2016.
Plus, it’s 20 bucks to get into it.
There are also no bands for 2016. That was the one big attraction for South Bay singles, but this is now strictly a family affair.
It used to be that this event had bands all afternoon, they would pause for the fireworks, then a band would play until about 11. There was beer and while most of the crowd was families, there was a bit of a party aspect to it.
But no more.
You can bring your own food and beverages (but not booze).
It is important to note that the fireworks are at 9.
And they can be seen from all over the South Bay. Most people in Hermosa go out onto the beach by the shore, which is the best viewing point.
In Redondo, anywhere around King Harbor puts you in great viewing position; people line up along the seawall from the Portofino hotel to behind Seaside Lagoon near the old wooden pier.
Alcohol is not legal but some people do go out discreetly with “concealed cocktails.” If you wish to do the same, then most definitely be discreet.
Still, if you want to go, here’s ticket information and a bit more on the Redondo Beach 4th of July website.
