Welcome to the PubClub.com South Bay Party Report!
The Party Report is brought to you by Kona Brewing; pop the top on a Longboard Lager, Big Wave Golden Ale, Wailua Wheat, Lemongrass Luau or Pipeline Porter and REALLY enjoy this Party Report!
So here’s what’s on tap for this week & weekend!
PUBCLUB.COM IS CO-HOSTING A TWITTER HAPPY HOURS CHAT
Here’s something super cool – PubClub.com is co-hosting a Twitter chat on Wednesday. It’s #foodtravelchat and the subject is – wait for it – Happy Hours!!! It takes place from 5-6 p.m. If you are not familiar with Twitter chats, then simply be on to Twitter at 5 o’clock and put in the hashtag #foodtravelchat.
That’s it – you’re in! You can add your thoughts by responding to any (or all) of the 10 questions; just be sure and use the hashtag on your replies to be seen on the thread. This chat includes people from all over the world, so join the chat and let ‘em know what you think about Happy Hours in the South Bay or from your travels!
WEDNESDAY IN HERMOSA BEACH: FREE BEER!
Where else besides PubClub.com and the Party Report are you going to learn about an event that has free beer!? Right after the Twitter chat, there’s a Happy Hour at the Hermosa Beach Historical Society and they obviously know a thing or two about what appeals to people in the South Bay because they are giving away free beer!
Or wine, if you prefer.
It’s 6-8 and the building is located 710 Pier Ave. They do this several times a year, by the way. They want you to RSVP to: [email protected].
Also Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors try to go up 3-0 against the LeBrons. Gametime is 6 p.m. The next game is Friday, same time.
FRIDAY: CLASSIC CAR SHOW & REDONDO PIER HAPPY HOURS

One of the fun and free things we have in the South Bay is the weekly free classic car show in the King Harbor parking lot.
There are some true classics at this event – 57 Chevys (my personal favorites), Chevy Nomads, 30s roadsters and even unusual cars such as oversized and undersized Volkswagen Beatle. There’s even a raffle for great prizes, such as one free hour off the two-hour tour from Beach Cities Bike Tours!
Of course, one can only look at cars for so long so the following PubClub.com also lists all Happy Hours on and around the Redondo Beach Pier.

SHADE SUNDAYS A BIG HIT
I was surprised – pleasantly surprised – at how many people were at the Shade Hotel’s first Sunday summer beach rooftop party. After all, the entire weekend was socked in with June Gloom yet there were around 75 people on the deck. There’s two more – the first Sunday of July and then again in August –and below is my review, including the crowd.

VEGAS HAPPENINGS

There’s a lot of news coming out of Vegas these days.
The Monte Carlo is being replaced by a pair of more hip hotels, the final phase in the cleaning up of that area that includes The Park and the T-Mobile Arena.
This month also launches a series of events & specials for the 50th anniversary of the legendary Caesar’s Palace; did you know an IndyCar race was once held there and of course Evil Kenevil broke nearly every bone in his body trying to jump the fountains.
Also, there’s a full lineup of drink, Happy Hour & Father’s Day specials at the LINQ in June and a new beer bar is opening this summer just off the Strip.
You can get all the deets and keep up with what’s happening in Vegas by bookmarking this PubClub.com link, and checking it frequently:
