What’s Happening In Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach & Redondo Beach

Welcome to the PubClub.com South Bay Party Report!
The PubClub.com South Bay Party Report is brought to you by Kona Beer. Several of you had the Lemongrass Luau – which contains ginger! – and the Wailua Wheat at the Memorial Day Sunday brunch party, and you can find them in the grocery and liquor stores, along with Big Wave Golden Ale, Longboard Lager and other great Kona brews!
It’s the week after a fun Memorial Day Weekend (mostly spent in the Fiesta Hermosa beer garden!) and is the first weekend of June. And with all that’s happening in the South Bay, there’s no June Gloom here, at least when it comes to fun events and nightlife!
Here’s what’s on tap this week.

YP310 MIXER THURSDAY
The free Young Professionals mixer for June is Thursday. The location is Shade Hotel, Manhattan Beach. The time is 6-10. Lately, it’s peak has been 7-9ish.
SARAH’S BIRTHDAY BASH SATURDAY
Sarah Norwood’s birthday party is Saturday afternoon in Hermosa and she’s got a DJ and bouncy-ball set (which should be pretty fun after a few drinks!). If you know Sarah and don’t have the invite and deets, contact her for them. It’s BYOB so go to the store and get some of those Kona beers to bring to the bash!
SHADE HOTEL ROOFTOP PARTY STARTS SUNDAY
Sunday Fundays have a new addition, the opening up of the rooftop bar at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. There’s drinks, a DJ and food. Here’s details:

REDONDO BEACH LIVE MUSIC VENUES
I saw a post on a Q&A site recently asking about karaoke in Redondo Beach and then a friend discovered a pretty good Led Zeppelin cover band that plays every Sunday at the sweaty Starboard Attitude bar, so I looked into all the live music in and around the Redondo Pier and found quite a bit. Here’s a day-by-day schedule:

ROAD TRIP SUGGESTION
This weekend is the first of several fun events in and around San Francisco, the Union Street Festival. It’s in the Marina District and is a free street block party with bands, food, beer areas but mostly, fun people hanging out in the bars on Union Street doing some daytime drinking. There are also fun events like the Waitress Beer Relays, in which girls race down one of big San Francisco hills carrying a tray full of beers. Here’s details:
