Green Beer & Bands At One Of L.A.’s Oldest Restaurants

One of the oldest restaurants in Los Angeles, Tam O’Shanter, is once again hosting its huge St. Patrick’s Day party, one of the biggest Irish celebrations in Los Angeles.
The restaurant opens at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 17. A tent area in the parking lot opens at noon. The music starts at 12:30 and goes until, well, you’re green from drinking so much green beer.
Tam O’Shanter features live music, Irish food and even a raffle to win a free dinner at a later date. As well as beer, lots of beer. Plus Irish whiskey (but go easy on the whiskey if you’re going to make a long day/night of it on St. Paddy’s Day).
Music Lineup & Promotion Girls
Here’s the lineup of bands playing at the Tam:
• Broken Band Celtic Duo: Celtic guitar and a fiddle with a backdrop of a percussionist, the band is influenced by artists like the Pogues, The Bothy Band, Van Morrison, Horslips, The Waterboys, U2, the Chieftans and Alison Krauss.
• Ploughboys: Tam O’Shanter’s house band.
• Whiskey Sunday: A combination of Irish folk with a hearty pour of Americana, prairie winds and riverside cabin hymns.
The Guinness and Tullamore D.E.W. girls will also be on hand, and there will be a drawing to receive two tickets to the restaurant’s upcoming Whisky Pairing Dinner ($150 value).
There is no cover charge but it’s recommended to arrive by late afternoon to avoid any lines.
“St. Patty’s is one of the best celebrations throughout the year, and no one does it better in L.A. than the Tam O’Shanter,” says John Lindquist, General Manager of Tam O’Shanter.
“If you’re looking for great times, great friends, and great food and drink, there’s no place better to celebrate this fantastic holiday.”
Tam O’Shanter is located in Los Feliz.
