The sounds and talents of Southern California and Baja California fill the air of San Diego’s North Park community on the last Friday of May and the first day of June for the North Park Music Festival.
This year marks the fourth anniversary and it involves two days of music on a pair of stages, food, vendors and – this being North Park – craft beers. Bands include Resurrection of Louis the XIV, the contemporary blues of Fantastic Negrito and one of TJ’s finest, Parque de Cometas. In all, there are some 40 performers. The theme is “Music Beyond Borders” and the festival mascot is the California Thrasher, a songbird emblematic of the region’s cultural richness.
The hours are 4-10 p.m., on Friday and Noon-10 p.m., on Saturday. The location is the North Park Mini Park at University Ave., between Utah and 30th Street. The address is 3812 29th Street.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets are $45 each day and $60 for both days. They can be puchased on the event’s website, Music Festival – North Park, San Diego (northparkmusicfest.org)
