The holiday spirit comes to the East Village in San Diego with the East Village Tree Lighting & Holiday Market.
This free event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 30, from 4-8 p.m. It takes place at Quartyard and 13th & Market. It features live music from local entertainers, drinks from Quartyard – which has an extensive craft beer selection from dozens of taps – tacos and other Mexican favorites from El Comal and a holiday market curated by San Diego Markets, featuring a selection of handcrafted gifts. At 6:45, the East Village Association and San Diego officials will officially ring in the local holiday season with a traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony. And, of course, Santa will be there, as well.
The event is also a social scene for area residents, many of whom are single and enjoy getting festive for the holidays.
“There is something truly magical about turning our beloved neighborhood into an unforgettable holiday experience,” said Dominic Li Mandri, District Manager of East Village Association. “It warms our hearts to see the community come together in East Village filled with joy and love to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. We cannot wait to see everyone at the East Village Tree Lighting & Holiday Market!”
There will be holiday-themed bandanas and custom collars for pets, complete with matching items for their owners from Barks & Crafts. Additionally, Paul Maschka will present his hand-carved Scandinavian-style wooden spoons, while local creator Katie Morland showcases her engaging travel-themed board game.
The East Village Tree Lighting & Holiday Market is put on by the East Viillage Assocation and is hosted by Quartyard and is a popular neighborhood holiday tradition.
