Tiki Oasis 2024


It’s back! The annual Tiki Oasis is Aug. 1-4 and it involves just about everything tiki you can imagine (and some things you probably can’t imagine; you just have to be there to see and experience all of it).
Tiki Oasis has DJs and live music, a daytime pool party with a poolside band, nighttime room parties hosted by rum makers, rum tastings, rum bartender challenges, an incredible (and free) tiki marketplace and an overall fun atmosphere. Bring your bathing suit and aloha shirt!

Pool Parties

Gaslamp hotels act like Vegas during the summertime and open up thier pools to the public for pool parties. The Hard Rock Hotel has one on Saturday, the Pendry on Sunday are the two most popular ones.
Del Mar Horse Races

Opening Day is over the shoulder but the races continue “where the turf meets the surf.” GA tickets are just 8 bucks and there are half-priced drinks unitl 5 on Fridays. Races start at 4 p.m. Saturday there’s a wine festival (2-5, $75).
Summertime At San Diego’s Beaches

There is no specific event but there is always something fun happening at San Diego’s beaches in the summertime. Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and Ocean Beach are the most lively, but there’s also the North County Beaches, in particular Swami’s Beach in Encinitas.
International Beer Day Is Aug. 2
