Gaslamp To Host Three-Day Festival With Music, Food & Beer

It’s a multi-day affair from July 10-12 – the -All-Star game is Tuesday, July 12 – and it features beer, music, food, all within a long ball of Petco Park. Called the Pepsi Block Party, it’s free and goes from noon-6 p.m.
The location is on J Street between 6th Avenue to 10th Avenue, and it also has baseball games and giveaways.
Of course, in kick-backed San Diego, this is like an invitation to fun. Especially for single people.
The Gaslamp is full of them and they are all smiling and friendly, easy to talk to and happy to be out in such a cool area. The area is also full of bars, most of which Happy Hours on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
There will also be tourists in town for the All-Star game weekend. All of the Gaslamp will be a party for days leading up to the game.
Here’s the full schedule of All-Star game activities:
• FanFest, July 8-12, San Diego Convention Center
This is where baseball junkies will be, as it has interactive games, past players and Padres players having autograph sessions, memorabilia, displays, etc. This is not a free event; in fact tickets are a whopping $35.
• All-Star Sunday, July 10, Petco Park
The highlight here is the celebrity softball game. There’s also a “futures” all-star game with top baseball prospects. Tickets: $25 and up, and include entry into the FanFest on Friday, Monday or Tuesday.
• Home Run Derby & All-Star Game Workout, June 11, Petco Park
The day-before workout of the players and the “swing for the fences” event. The home run derby starts at 5 p.m. Tickets: $125-250 (that’s not a typo!).
