Mom certainly deserves more than one day of recognition but she does have one, of course, Mother’s Day. It’s May 12 and in San Diego, several restaurants and bars are having events. Here is a rundown of Mother’s Day specials menus, food and drinks in San Diego.
Mother’s Day is one of the few occasions Georges at the Cove serves brunch and this year a three-course prix fix meal will be available in the restaurant’s Lower Level dining room from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The brunch cost $50 per adult and $25 per child 12 and under, and the price includes a pastry basket, spring salad and choice of entrée. George’s rooftop Ocean Terrace will also be open for regular hours beginning at 11 a.m. Reservations, available here, are required.

Little Italy’s Cloak & Petal is adorned with cherry blossoms and eccentric art inspired by Harajuku and Tokyo! On Mother’s Day, from 2-10 p.m., it has specialty dishes and drinks: $12 Geena the Latina Margaritas and Yuzu Orange Mimosas, $20 Hong Kong Chicken and Waffles, Mizuchile, and ½ Dozen Oysters on the Half Shell!

Clairemont’s Arely’s French Bakery is a cozy, Parisian spot perfect for celebrating with mom. This bakery-restaurant combo is offering a complimentary mimosa with the purchase of an entree and has both bruncd and dinner. The brunch menu, served 7 a.m.-3 p.m., features St. Michael Baguette French Toast, Chicken Florentine Crepes and Brie & Avocado L’Omelett. Dinner, which is from 4-8 pm., has Escargot de Bourgogne, Garlic Spiced Shrimp and Blackened Chicken Penne.

North Park’s Black Radish has a lavish afternoon tea from 11a.m.-4 p.m. It includes champagne, peach bellini, sparkling cider, fresh herb & dry teas. Finger Sandwiches Include Alaskan King Crab and Osetra Caviar on Brioche, Smoked Egg Salad on Chive Biscuit, Roasted Chicken with Truffle Aioli and Red Vein Sorel on Sourdough. Freshly Baked Scones include Blueberry & Cinnamon, Normandy Butter, Devonshire Cream, and Currant Jam, and Pastres & Sweets brings you Apple Tartlets, Berry Trifles, Pineapple Cheesecake, and Chocolate Eclairs. Also in North Park, Louisiana Purchase puts a Southern twist on Mother’s Day with Cajun-inspired Oxtail Omelettes, Gator Omelettes and Breakfast Short Rib Mac from Noon-3 p.m., and one complimentary mimosa is included with the meal.

University Heights’s RustiCucin, which features Sicilian and Italian dining, has a Mother’s Day late afternoon and dinner menu from 3-10 p.m., either a la carte or prix fixe style. The three-course prix fixe menu, priced at $59 per person, includes one Antipasti (Polpetta Della Nonna, Crispy Burrata, Calamari, and more), one Entree (Lobster Ravioli, Brasato Di Manzo, Pesto Fettuccine, and more) and one specialty dessert.

In the Gaslamp Quarter, barleymash has complimentary custom tableside poems.
