Multiple Events & A Fully Open California Make This The Best Place To Be In The USA
The dam has burst.
A flood of partying has been held behind a giant wall but now a rush of excitement is rolling across the Golden State and this weekend it’s all collecting in San Diego.
And that makes the sunny city THE place to be in the USA.
San Diego is hosting the U.S. Open golf championship at Torrey Pines.
It is also the first time that Petco Park will be at full capacity in nearly two years as the Padres – contenders for the MLB playoffs and who knows, a World Series? – as they host the Cincinnati Reds for a four-game series running Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
And then there’s the all-open California, which will make the bars all over the city (and the state, really) major meccas of nightlife.
Starting with the Padres, the bars around the stadium will be buzzing with activity. They include Bub’s by the Ballpark, Social Tap, the Blind Burrow, the rooftop at Altitude Lounge (Marriott) and all the bars along popular Fifth Ave., especially including the always-popular Barleymash.
About 45 minutes to the north, the U.S. Open is attracting high-end golf and party fans to Torrey Pines Golf Course. The Lodge at Torrey Pines bar serves as the event’s 19th hole.
Then there are the beaches. With sunny weather and temperatures in the upper 70s, crowds will be out in force at Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach, as well as on Coronado.
And that means full bars in those places day and night.
So if you want to party this weekend, fully-open California style, head to San Diego. It’s the best place in the USA for a fun time.
