San Francisco in the summertime is a fun place to be because it has some type of event or street/music festival seemingly every weekend. Here is a complete rundown of them, Dates and information on San Francisco’s top events & festivals: Bay to Breakers, Union Street Festival, Fillmore Jazz Festival, the North Beach Festival, the Sausalito Art Festival and a few more fun ones in the adjacent Bay Area.
Union Street Festival 2023 San Francisco

Dates: June 3-4
Times: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Location: Union Street in Cow Hollow/Marina District
Price/Tickets: This is a free event and no tickets are necessary
The first of the San Francisco’s street festivals features food, music and small beer gardens. But the real attraction is the many bars along Union Street, which makes this a wholly fun event.

Bay To Breakers 2023 San Francisco

Dates: May 21
Times: 8 a.m.-???
Location: From the Bay Bridge to the “breakers” at the end of Golden Gate Park
Price/Tickets: $75 + a $6.75 fee for those who register. Others join at places past the start line.
For party people, this is the event for you. Bay to Breakers is San Francisco’s version of Mardi Gras. Except you are in it! This is technically a foot race through the city but with people in costumes, teams and block parties through the neighborhoods along the route, it’s more like a, well, Mardi Gras parade. Unfortunately, the floats of the past are no longer allowed.

North Beach Festival 2023 San Francisco

Dates: June 17 & 18
Times: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Location: Columbus and Grant Avenues, and on numerous adjacent streets inNorth Beach.
Price/Tickets: This is a free event and no tickets are necessary
Music stages featuring everything from pop rock to reggae and salsa, beer gardens, a cooking stage, arts & crafts, animal blessings and even a celebrity pizza toss, held in San Francisco’s district of Italian restaurants. This year is the 67th event.

Fillmore Jazz Festival 2023 San Francisco

Dates: July 1-2
Times: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Location: All along Fillmore Street from Geary to Washington streets
Price/Tickets: This is a free event and no tickets are necessary
Four stages set up along Fillmore Street with music all day from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. This is the biggest of the city’s many summer street festivals and with a crowd of more than 100,000 people during the two days is the largest free Jazz festival on the West Coast.

Sausalito Art Festival 2023 San Francisco Canceled
Dates: Labor Day Weekend
Times: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Location: Sausalito
Price/Tickets: N/A
For those used to this his annual Labor Day event that featured wine, live music artists, paintings and photography at scenic bayside park in this beautiful Mediterranean-style village, there is sad news. It is no more. This is the statement on the event’s website: “In 2021, a homeless encampment moved into Marinship Park, the location of the Sausalito Art Festival and the Festival was canceled for obvious reasons. Although the encampment was removed in 2022, the park is now closed and in disrepair.” There is now Art Weekend Sausalito, Oct. 14-16

Top Bay Area Events For 2023
Just outside of San Francisco, there are some big, fun events. Here are two of PubClub.com’s favorites.
Wharf to Wharf Run Santa Cruz to Capitola Beach

Dates: July 23
Times: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Location: Santa Cruz wharf to the Capitola Beach wharf
Price/Tickets: $50 to run; free to party afterward in Capitola Beach.
Get healthy, and then party! If that’s not the theme of this event, then it’s the result. It’s a 6-mile run from Santa Cruz to the fun little beach town of Capitola. The event attracts 15,000 runners and is held each year on the fourth Saturday of July. This is the 51st Wharf to Wharf event.

Concourse de Elegance, Pebble Beach

Dates: Aug. 20
Times: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Location: Pebble Beach Golf Course and all around Carmel and Monterey
Price/Tickets: $475, tho there are free displays of classic cars and events throughout Monterey and Carmel during the weekend.
The world’s premier showcase for automobiles. While the main event features rare, exotic and luxury cars on the 18th fairway of Pebble Beach golf course, there are events – many of them free – throughout Carmel and Monterey.
