Santa Rosa, CA is most famous for being the long-time residence of Peanuts creator Charles Shultz, but being in Northern California’s wine country of Sonoma County gives it quite a bit of recognition for another reason, too.
But there’s more to this small town than just meets the famous characters and the wine glass. It is also home to several craft breweries, which is why the the breweries and Visit Santa Rosa have created the cleverly-named FeBREWary. It celebrates the area’s craft beer during February, typically the wine-drinking traveler’s slow season. Hotel rates are cheaper than in the summer and the Charles M. Shultz Sonoma County Airport is served by Alaska, American and Avelo airlines so you can fly right into town.
During FeBREWary, there are specials at the breweries as well as the Santa Rosa Beer Passport. Those who get all stops stamped receive FeBREWary Olympic-style metals. Breweries and taprooms on the 2023 beer passport include Moonlight Brewing Co, Civilization Brewing and Old Possum Brewing Co. This year, the passport is digital.
Participation is simple. Take your digital passport (download the app on your phone) to each of the participating breweries and check-in to receive a point from each brewery. Collect enough points (and drink enough beer) and you qualify for Beer Passport prizes.
Once you enable your digital Beer Passport, you will have 90 days to check-in at all participating breweries and redeem your prize(s). All prizes are available while supplies last.
The main passport prize is a commemorative Santa Rosa Beer Passport 2023 lanyard and medal that doubles as an oversized bottle opener.
To redeem your prize, bring your cell phone to Wilibees Santa Rosa and go to the Beer Passport area toward the back of the store during normal business hours.
Side Quest: Once you check-in at all Santa Rosa Metro Chamber member locations, you will qualify for an additional prize. You must check-in at the following breweries to be eligible: Russian River Brewing Company, Henhouse Brewing Company, Moonlight Brewing Co., Third Street Aleworks*, Shady Oak Barrel House, and Old Caz. To redeem your prize, bring your passport to Wilibees during its normal business hours. Do not attempt to complete check-in at Wilibees until you are with a member of the Wilibees staff – otherwise you will not receive your prize.
