Halloween-Style Event Includes A Parade And A Plethora Of Parties

After being canceled last year due to COVID-19, Fantasy Fest is set to return this year for all 10 days. The dates are Oct. 22-31.
This includes the the Bud Light Fantasy Fest Parade, which goes through Duval Street from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean. It takes place on Saturday, Oct. 30 starting at 7 p.m.
This year’s event theme is “All A Daze For A Holiday.” If you’re wondering what that entails, the FantasyFest website explains it this way: “you can expect to see St. Patrick who forgot his sunblock gleaming like a gold coins, Mrs. Clause letting her hair down sipping on a daiquiri, and Cupid with his binoculars and Hawaiian printed shirt ready to take in the sights of Key West.”
The parade is a moving party reminiscent of Mardi Gras. But with a Halloween twist. It has festive floats, bicycle brigades, human-powered kinetic machines and people walking in wild costumes. In most years, tens of thousands of people line the street and hang out on balconies of the bars.
It remains to be seen how many people will at be this year’s event, but it’s sure to be in the thousands.
There is are also pool parties, a zombie bike ride, a heroes and villains 5k run/walk, a luau, a beach bash, a bar crawl and, well, you get the idea. Nearly every bar in the Key West area also has events, music and themed drink specials.
All of this makes Fantasy Fest a non-stop party in a place that really knows how to party.
