Mermaid Festival, Key Lime Festival & Hemingway Days All Scheduled For July In The Conch Republic
The Conch Republic his hosting three in July, two on the same Fourth of July weekend. They are the Mermaid Festival (July 1-4), the Key Lime Festival (July 1-4) and the biggest of them all, Hemingway Days (July 20-25).
And here’s some more good news – Fantasy Fest is back for 2021! The dates are Oct. 22-31.
These events are very important to the local economy as the Conch Republic relies on tourism for jobs and the return of festivals bring in visitors to the Conch Republic at time outside of the prime tourist season.
They also help Key West keep its quirky personality. After all, What other destination has a festival for mermaids and another for a Pulitzer Prize-winning author that includes a look-alike contest and a staging of the Running of the Bulls using fake bulls?
Here’s a brief rundown of each event. For more details, click the links.
