Wind Chill To Be Minus-10 As Much Of USA To Experience Bone-Chilling NYE Weather

If you want to be warm for New Year’s Eve, then head to a place like Foxy’s Bar in the British Virgin Islands, where it will be 80 degrees for its annual big-time bash (this year’s theme: toga party).
But don’t go to New York City. Or any place in along the USA’s East Coast or Midwest. Because it will be freezing cold.
New York City, with its famous celebration and countdown in Times Square, will almost set a record for cold weather. It will be so cold it will tie for the second-coldest recorded NYE. How cold?
“We are predicting 11 degrees at midnight in Times Square,” said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Paul Walker.
And that’s not even the worst of it because it will “feel like minus 10 degrees,” he added.
Still, it’s better than it will be in Boston, which Walker says will have a windchill of minus 21. Chicago will be 9 degrees with a wind chill of minus-3. Wind-chill advisories are in effect for parts of Main, Vermont, New Hampshire and upstate New York in the East and Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana and Michigan in the Midwest.
Now, if you’re planning to be in Las Vegas for NYE, the weather will be warmer than normal for this time of the year. Normally it dips into the 30s, but this year will be in the 40s, with highs in the mid-60s.
In New Orleans, PubClub’s #1 destination for New Year’s Eve, the temperature will be 56, but dropping to 32 by the time the fireworks are launched at Jackson Square, and be prepared for an around-the-block line to get into Pat O’Brien’s and other Bourbon Street bars because it’s also going to be raining.
If you want good, warm and sunny weather for New Year’s Eve, then head to where PubClub will be – the Southern California beaches, where it will be mostly sunny and in the mid-60s.
