Wineries Pouring At Nashville Shores Amusement Park

There’s more than country music and beer in Nashville.
There’s also wine, and one heck of a fun wine festival – in an amusement park!
Called “A Toast To Tennessee,” it features wines from 25 Tennessee wineries and the location is unique in what it provides to wine lovers. It’s at the waterpark of Nashville Shores Resort in nearby Hermitage.
The 2016 date is Saturday, April 30. It goes from noon-6 p.m. The cost is $30 in advance, $40 at the gate. There are also group tickets for groups of 15 or more for $15 each.
In addition to the wine tasting, there’s food from local restaurants and music from a DJ. Plus wine and food seminars. The tickets include the wine and food tastings, seminars and a souvenir wine glass.
The event provides access to the grassy area at Shady Point, so it’s okay to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Coolers and outside food (and drinks, obviously) are not permitted.
For those who don’t want to make the 30 to 45-minute drive from Nashville (or, more to the point, the 30 to 45-minute drive back to Nashville) there’s a hotel and even camping and cabins ticket packages with a free shuttle service.
And since you can buy bottles of the wines at the festival, staying in the hotel, campground or cabins might be the best option for those wanting to continue their wine tasting experience into the evening.
