Mostly Sunny Weather Greets Independence Day Celebrations Across The USA While Southern Beaches Are Soaked With Rain
However, if you’ve in Florida or the coastal areas in the South, you’ll be spending most of your time indoors rather than on the beaches and in the water.
Baltimore
Mostly sunny and hot – mid-90s in the daytime and a much more milder mid-70s at night. Thundershowers on Saturday.
Boston
Mostly sunny the entire weekend thru the 4th. With temperatures in the low 90s it’s going to be hot, but it’s cooling off considerably in the evenings, with some nights dropping into the low 60s. The 4th is the most pleasant day with a high of just 78.
Chicago
The Windy City is hot and warm thru the weekend – Sunday reaches a high of 87 – cooling off into the 50s at night. Tuesday, however, rain is moving in; there’s a 60% chance os scattered thundershowers for both the 4th and the 5th.
Denver
The Mile High City is hot with temperatures in the low 90s, but have a jacket at night, for it’s dropping into the low 60s. Saturday is a fully sunny day with some clouds moving in Sunday and Monday.
Los Angeles
The weather in Los Angeles varies by location. Over “the hill” the valleys and deserts are hot, exceeding 100 degrees. The coast is where the partying is anyway and morning “June gloom” clouds will give way on the weekend to fully sunny skies with Tuesday being fully sunny. Coastal temperatures are mild, with highs in the low 70s. Like Denver, have a light jacket with you; it will be a cool 63 at night.
New York City
Scattered thundershowers hit the Big Apple on Saturday giving way to mostly sunny skies thru the 4th. The 4th is mostly sunny with zero chance of rain and temperatures of 84 and 70. It will reach into the 90s on the weekend.
Philadelphia
Almost identical to New York, except add a few degrees. Tuesday will be 89 and 68.
Seattle
One of the most spectacular fireworks shows in the country takes place in Seattle. It won’t be fully clear skies, but with mostly sunny conditions it will be close enough. Seattle is a cool place to be for the 4th in more ways than one – the daytime temperatures are a mild 72 with lows a potentially chilly mid-50s.
Washington, D.C.
The nation’s capitol will have rain Saturday evening, then mostly sunny skies through the long weekend. It will be hot and steamy with highs in the low 90s. More clouds will roll in Tuesday when the high is 92 and the low 72.
USA’s Beaches
Hopefully you’re not on the west coast of Florida, where rain is to pelt the entire coast from Fort Myers thru Clearwater Beach, reaching the Florida panhandle on Monday. This stretches nearly the entire length of the Gulf Coast into Alabama’s coast, but stops short of New Orleans.
Key West is facing several straight days of rain starting Monday and the same fate is in store for Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Palm Beach on Florida’s east coast.
The news is even worse further up the coast. In fact, it’s raining now in places like Savannah, Ga; Charleston and Hilton Head Island, S.C.; and Wilmington, N.C. And it won’s top raining for the next week. Ocean Beach, Maryland gets part of this but escapes it on the weekend. However, there’s a 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms on Tuesday.
On Coney Island, scattered thunderstorms will hit starting late in the morning, but the rest of the weekend thru the forth will be party cloudy to partly sunny.
In Texas, San Padre Island is cloudy on the weekend and hot and sunny on Monday and Tueday with highs in the low 90s and only getting down to the 80s at night.
In Hawaii, Honolulu and Waikiki Beach have some clouds but there’s no chance of rain through the 4th. Maui has rain Saturday, Sunday and Monday but Tuesday is a gorgeous, fully-sunny day with a high of 81 and a low of 63.
