Partida Spirit Bird Challenge is June 12 For South Florida Bartenders
Key West is a town known for beer and rum. But tequila?
Sure, I’ll have some!
That’s what the Partida Spirit Bird Challenge is all about. The 2011 event is Sunday, June 12, at open-air rooftop of the Rum Barrel (528 Front Street) from 5-8 p.m.
It’s an open competition for bartenders from throughout South Florida “to capture the essence of Key West and the true spirit of tequila,” according to event sponsor Patron. The winner receives a $500 cash prize, plus his or her original recipe posted on the Tequila Partida website.
The event is free and open to the thirsty public (21 and over) and people will be able to taste the bartenders’ concoctions.
