Venues And Events Stepping Up Searches At Venues And Events
If you’re going to a sporting event, concert or festival – anything to do with crowds – then be prepared for longer lines to get into the venues.
After two bombs went off at the Boston Marathon, security is being stepped up across the country, and event organizers are particularly on high alert.
This goes for baseball stadiums, basketball arenas, concert venues and special events such as the Coachella Music Festival and Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, both taking place this weekend in Southern California.
Be prepared to wait in longer lines to enter the venues, which means you’ve got to arrive sooner. I suggest at least half an hour.
Yes, it’s a pain and it’s a shame we have to go through this, but that’s the way it is today. So please don’t bitch about it or complain to the security doing the checking of your bag and giving you a patdown. It will only hold up the line. Instead, go through it with a smile on your face knowing soon enough you will be inside having a good time.
Yes, I do remember the good ‘ol days when the searches were to attempt to find concealed booze we were sneaking into venues. And I would very much like it if we could return to those good ‘ol days.
