Fremont Street Hosts Block Party Run Run And Pub Crawl
Glow with the flow.
That’s the idea of the inaugural GlowRun, a 7K race in downtown Las Vegas taking place Sunday, Oct. 7.
In a preview of Halloween that hits Vegas the end of the month, GloRun involves people in costumes, but instead of being on the Strip and running through the casinos and clubs, they are running through the Fremont East Entertainment District. At the finish line, there is a block party open to runners and spectators, with DJs and Girl Talk as the headliner.
Or, if you don’t want to run, then don’t sweat it, for you can take part in a Bacardi-sponsored pub crawl and “pop up” parties at the bars around Fremont Street. More than 10,000 people are expected.
The event is not in the morning like most runs, but at night. And that should encourage people to wear costumes that glow, thus the event’s title. The race begins at 7, which is the same time doors open for After Glow. Girl Talk takes the stage at 10:15 p.m.
The start of the race is at Las Vegas Blvd. & Carson with the finish line at Fremont & 8th Street.
The After Glow party and pub crawl are part of event registration; otherwise, you must purchase a ticket to After Glow. A portion of registration will benefit Aid for AIDS of Nevada.
Glow Run is put on in part by Insomniac Productions, the same company that handles the hugely successful Electric Daisy Carnival. So you know that music is involved.
