Event Features Bands, Beer, Entertainment & Lobsters

That’s not exactly the line from the Jimmy Buffett song – it’s oysters and beer – but when there’s a lobster festival, it fits.
And in Los Angeles on the third weekend of September there is a lot of lobster and lots of beer to wash it down at the annual San Pedro Lobster Festival (technically, it’s the Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival, but it’s held at Ports ‘O Call Village in San Pedro).

The 2020 event is Friday, June 11-20. The big day is Sunday for its so-called block party. Just getting into the event can take time, so be patient.
But to be perfectly honest, while the lobsters are great, the real attraction for the Bar Blogger is walking around in the Southern California sunshine with a cold beer in hand and listening to the bands. The stage is backed up against the water and it’s one of life’s great and simple pleasures to be enjoying live music in a pleasant setting, knowing a refill is just a few steps away.

There’s a lot of people around the stage, but also plenty of room so you never feel squished.
Plus, there’s other entertainment talking place elsewhere, so it’s cool to walk around, beer in hand, and check out everything.
