Three-Day Holiday Brings BBQs, Concerts, Beach & Lake Boat Parties Across America
Memorial Day Weekend 2021 is May 29-31.
This three-day weekend brings backyard BBQs with kegs of beer, concerts; festivals and beach, boats and lake parties. And America is more than ready to cut loose and PARTY!
With positive COVID cases and hospitalizations dropping like drunks off a barstool, Americans are going out like they were during the pandemic and Memorial Day Weekend provides the first three-day opportunity to cut loose since Labor Day in 2019. That’s some 20 month ago.
Yet this weekend, all across the country, Americans will be preparing their swimming pools, buying huge amounts of food and booze at the grocery and liquor stores, packing for road trips, getting the boat primed up and going to beaches and lakes to do what? Party!
Memorial Day 2021 will be like Spring Break for everyone. People have been bottled up waiting to break out and they are going to tear through it like a dog in heat that’s broken free from its leash.
As I write this, it’s a Thursday evening and AC/DC is playing on my Internet radio station. I’m “Thunderstruck” and ready to party.
And party I will – PubClubette Ashley and I, along with several friends – will be going to the Beach Boys concert in Petco Park, the baseball stadium of the San Diego Padres. The next night, Ziggy Marley plays there.
A concert! How many of you have been jonesing to go to a concert!? Quite a few, judging by how fast tickets to music festivals are selling these days.
Not all is back to full party time mode, tho. The Indianapolis 500 – an American Memorial Day Weekend tradition going back to before the Titanic scraped against an iceberg – isn’t having its Snake Pit infield party. Too bad, that was some party scene!
Other places, tho, are en fuego with partying PubClubbers – Las Vegas, the awesome boat tie-up party on Lake Travis outside of Austin (TX), the beaches in Florida and, well, I could go on and on, of course.
I must be going now because, well, it’s party time!
