City To Hold NYE Event at Arc de Tromphe

The City of Lights will once again light up on New Year’s Eve to close out 2015 and welcome in 2016.
The city celebration is at the Champs-Elysees, featuring a show of 3D images projected onto the Arc de Tromphe. This starts at 11:30 p.m.
Naturally, in light of the Paris attacks, people are questioning if this is sill on and if so, if it’s safe. PubClub.com was at a Tourism France press event in late November and was assured all activities are on as scheduled.
Traditionally, there are a hundred thousand or so people in and around the Champs-Elysees for NYE in Paris, partying, celebrating and fun.
This year there will be, of course, a huge security and police presence at the event, as well as throughout the entire city. People are encouraged to be on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary but officials also want everyone to have a good time and not jump at everything that moves.
While there has been no official statement (to date) on the exact plans for security and instructions to those attending, there are systematic security cheeks for people entering the country (at road, rail, port and airport entries) and the State of Emergency situation has been extended from its original 12 days to three months.
This State of Emergency is, according to Tourism France: “The state of emergency does not mean that a curfew has been declared. Generally, the measures implemented aim to strengthen security and have no impact on the quality of the experience of foreign tourists in France.”
So yes, the party is on in Paris for New Year’s Eve.
