Weather Forecast Shows A Wet Celebration, But It Won’t Matter In The Bier Halls

It ‘s raining outside but hot inside and, most importantly, the beer is still flowing in the tents.
After a sunny opening weekend, Munich Oktoberfest 2019 has been a wet one for nearly every day of the two-week event. The forecast for closing weekend calls for rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Oktoberfest Munich 2019 dates are Sept. 21-Oct. 6.
Bring a jacket for more than the rain, at least for when you are outside. The temperatures are in the mid to low 50s in the daytime dropping into lower 40s and upper 30s at night. These numbers are in fahrenheit. In celsius, that translates to about 7 and 3, respectively.
Of course, the temperatures in the beer tents are a lot warmer. In fact, those beer tents can get hot, especially the most lively one of them all, the Hofbrau Haus. This is also the only place where you don’t have to be seated at a long picnic table in order to order a beer.
Inside any beer tent, you won’t know if it’s sunny, if it’s raining or even snowing. And you won’t care until you go outside, especially if you have to stand in a line to get into another beer tent.
But there’s more to the overall Oktoberfest celebration than the beer tents. It’s a huge carnival with street food (mostly brats) and rides. It’s very much like a county fair in the USA. So rain will definitely put a real damper on any of these activities. For those who manage to do any of these activities in between hoisting those heavy all-glass 1-liter mugs of German beer.
Ein Prost!
