Ein Prost!
People can raise those huge and heavy 1-liter beer mugs in the big tents , dance to oompha music and wear barmaid lederhosen outfits again.
Oktoberfest in Munich is officially on and happening in 2022.
The announcement was made byDieter Reiter, the mayor of the Bavarian capital. He added that it will be held without distractions. The 2022 dates are Sept. 17 to Oct. 3, which is Germany’s national day.
The world’s biggest and most famous beer festival – which dates back to 1810 when it was created in honor of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese – has been canceled the past two years because of the pandemic.
The event is a two-week celebration of beer and Bavarian culture, and the massive beer tents – the size of airplane hangers – are full of thousands of locals and visitors from around the world. Barmaids do the seemingly impossible: carry fistfulls of heavy 1-liter glass mugs filled with brew. People sit on tables and drink while a Bavarian band plays on a stage.
In most beer tents you actually have to be seated to order a beer but in the wild Hofbrau Haus, you can be up and dancing by the stage. Or even on one of the large and sturdy picnic tables.
It’s a scene that every #beerlover should experience at least once in their lifetime.
