L.A.’S ONLY ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
Just like Chicago, Hermosa Beach can’t wait to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day so we hold a parade on the Saturday before St. Paddy’s Day. Which means it’s this Saturday! This is hardly as big as the one in Chicago but what the heck, we have sunshine and palm trees, right!? This one is short, small and is a prelude to partying later at the pier (and there’s even a block party in Hermosa near the parade).
Look for me in the parade! I’ll be riding my Kona Brewing Company beach cruiser and no, I’m not painting it from its baby blue to green! Below is everything you need to know about the parade – time, location, route, the scene, the works:

THURSDAY: #THENIGHTLIFECHAT PUBCLUB.COM’S TWITTER CHAT
Put on your Irish eyes, start singing “Seven Drunken Nights” and join PubClub.com’s Twitter chat on Thursday as we chat about St. Patrick’s Day! Simply go to Twittter at 4 o’clock and put this hashtag into the search bar: #TheNightlifeChat. There will be five questions during the next 30 minutes and you answer them. Be sure and use the hashtag in your replies so they show up in the thread.
THURSDAY: TOWER 12 OFFICIALLY OPENS

The South Bay’s newest bar, the beach lounge Tower 12 in the old Fenner’s location, officially opens this Thursday. Get in there and check it out now that it’s part of the Beach Cities party scene! PubClub can can tell you that the rum drink is as good as it looks but the real star as far as cocktails goes is the margarita; in fact, it may be the best in town.
THURSDAY: SHADE MB ‘BACK TO SCHOOL’ BAR NIGHT
Here’s something cool: Each Thursday night starting at 6, Shade Hotel’s Manhattan Beach bar, Zinc@Shade, it donating 15% of your tab to a local education foundation.

WEEKEND: PAC-12 TOURNAMENT UCLA SCHEDULE
UCLA plays Thursday at 8:30 and is in the same bracket with Arizona. That game would be Friday at 8:30 p.m. The final is Saturday at 8 p.m.
SATURDAY: HOLI FESTIVAL OF COLORS

If you’re into more than the color of green, then the Holi Festival of Colors takes place Saturday in Whittier Narrows Park from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. This is a day of all things spiritual: singing, dancing, yoga and people throwing colors on each other. It is based on a spring festival in India and Nepal. In the spirit of things, it’s just 5 bucks to get into it. Tho it should be noted organizers say this is a no-alcohol event..

SUNDAY: HOLI FESTIVAL SEASIDE LAGOON REDONDO BEACH
Feeling colorful but don’t feel like driving to Whitter? Well there’s one right here in Redondo Beach at Seaside Lagoon on Saturday and Sunday. But since the Saturday event is sold out, you’ll have to go Sunday. Tickets are $12.

PUBCLUB TRAVEL: TOP ST. PATRICK’S DAY DESTINATOINS
I used to live in Savannah, GA, and that’s where my love of St. Patrick’s Day started, for Savannah holds a wild celebration with a parade leading to a shoulder-to-shoulder outdoor party scene on River Street. One day I would like to make it to all 10 places on this list of top St. Paddy’s Day destinations. How many have you been to, I wonder!?

PUBCLUB.COM PARTY TIP OF THE WEEK
Go to the parade. Don’t say “well, it’s not that big, I don’t know…,” Don’t say “I may go check it out afterward” and then of course never make it or arrive too late. Don’t play volleyball if you are one of those diehards who plays every single weekend day anyway. Just go to it. Yes, it’s small. Yes it’s silly.
But it’s LA only St. Patrick’s Day parade and treat it as if you’re in Boston, Chicago or even Savannah. Erin Go Bragh!
