They are the top places to party not just for Super Bowl Sunday but for the entire weekend. After all, a great party lasts hours if not days. Keep in mind that with the coronavirus pandemic, these spots are not at their full party level as in “regular” years. Still, use this article to plan for next year because the information is the same each season.
Super Bowl LVIII is Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.
1.) Las Vegas For Super Bowl LVIII
This is the top travel destination for Super Bowl weekend, other than the actual game city itself. And in 2024, Las Vegas is the host city for Super Bowl LVIII.
That means it’s more than just the weekend, it’s Super Bowl Week. Click here for a rundown of the top party events happening for Super Bowl LVIII.
Of course, it’s the place to bet on the game, and not just the game but on all sorts of other things, such as how long the National Anthem will last, which team will win the coin toss and pretty much anything else you can think of – and many that would never enter your imagination.
This is also a girls’ paradise, for the place normally is 80% men – be on notice that some take off their wedding rings! It’s also one of the biggest weekends of the year for out-of-town “working ladies. If you want to see them off duty, then hop a late-afternoon Southwest flight from Los Angeles to Vegas. Yes, they fly into Vegas for the weekend!
Wiht Super Bowl LVIII the makeup of people in Vegas will change somewhat but the core will stil be there, wedding rings or not.
2.) Kansas City
Fans of the Chiefs who do not go to the Super Bowl have this down by now, considering the team has gone to the Super Bowl four of the past five years. The areas to find the nightlife and party in Kansas City are the Power and Light District, Westport, Country Club Plaza, Lawrence, Intersections, 18th and Vine, River Market and West Bottoms.
3.) San Francisco
While not known as a big-time party city, San Francisco does it on a more reserved level than other places. It’s more of a sophisticated wine mentality as opposed to beer and shots. Except when the 49ers play. And for Super Bowl LVIII, you can find 49ers fans partying in San Francisco in the Marina District, an area of town some long-time locals call Cow Hollow. It’s along Union Street, which has seveeral bars to Fillmore Street, down the hill to Lombard Street where you will find a San Fransisco legendary drinking hole, Balboa Cafe.
Specific 49ers game-watching bars in San Francisco are the Golden Gate Tap Room in Union Square, the San Francisco Athetic Club, the Kezer Pub (across the street from the team’s first home, Kezer Stadium), and The Napper’s Tandy.
Home cities of the Super Bowl teams are top Super Bowl party cities.
This makes sense, considering the fans are in a frenzy and they are out at the bars buzzing about the game all weekend. There will be parties and game-watching parties at restaurants and bars throughout the cities of the Super Bowl teams. Just be sure and wear the home team’s colors if you are visiting from out of town!
Of course the host city is the hot & happening spot. It’s where all the Super Bowl parties are taking place – the official ones and unofficial ones – there’s the Fan Fest and lively restaurants and bars with fans of both teams, NFL personnel and others there for various work functions related to the game, the media (you may get to have a few beers with someone you see regularly on TV) and whomever else happens to be there to well, just party.
4.) Los Angeles South Bay Beach Cities
This is where PubClub.com usually is for Super Bowl Sunday. The day starts early with the Super Bowl 10K in Redondo Beach , the highlight of which is the beer garden. Yes, we start our beer drinking before 10 a.m.! Then it’s a succession of nearby bars followed by hitting a series parties. This is a full, fun day, folks!
5.) Phoenix Open, Scottsdale, AZ
This actually has less to do with the Super Bowl than another event, the Phoenix Open. The wildest – by far – golf tournament on the PGA Tour it’s a single person’s paradise, from the “Sweet 16th” hole to the party by the food court and beer tents. Too bad they have over-priced the post-tournament party the Bird’s Nest (it’s a whopping 85 bucks this year!) The tournament is rocking on Friday and roaring on Saturday, tho on Sunday the majority of the party people are at Super Bowl house parties.
BONUS: PARTY WHERE YOU ARE FOR SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
If you can’t be in any of these places, then make wherever you are a top party place. Either hit a bar, host a party or go to a house party. While at the latter, tho, be sure an avoid these Super Bowl house party foods – especially if you are single!
