Clever Social Media Tease Promises Brews For All Of California

Hola Mexico!
Here’s a reason for Americans on the West Coast to cheer for Mexico in the World Cup 2018. At least for the next game.
Bud Light has announced it will be giving away free beer – yes free beer! – if Mexico beats Brazil in the World Cup playoffs, known as the “kockout” stage in soccer parlance.
The teams play Monday at 7 a.m., Pacific Time, and the offer is for “all” of California, which should mean the entire Golden State as well as Baja California.
Details are vague as this is a clever social media tactic. BL put out at tease for “soccer fans from all of California,” via a YouTube video and a Medieval scroll on Twitter and other social media outlets announcing the end of the “curse of the 5th game,” a reference to Mexico’s inability to ever in the fifth game in the World Cup. Some in Mexico have called this a curse.
BL said should Mexico win, it would provide details of the free beer promotion sometime after the game. So it’s not like a bunch of Bud Light representatives and Bud Light girls will be in the bars handing out free beers during the game. Tho with this promotion, you can bet that several Los Angeles-area bars that are showing the game will have a huge Bud Light presence and you can expect to see Bud Light girls.
Here’s the video, which on YouTube is accompanied by this description: “Oracle Susana predicts that if Mexico breaks the Curse of the 5th Game, the King will help Californians pay for celebratory Bud Lights.”
Cheers and go Mexico!
