One Needs To Be In Shape For Whirlwind Of Fun Events
Bring it on.
I’m ready.
Up to the challenge.
I’ve been working out, doing deep breathing exercises, practicing curls with wine glasses.
The reason for all this preparation is the San Diego Wine & Food Festival, a multi-day event of saturation and satisfaction. Of indulgence and inspiration.
This is one of the best wine and food festivals (and beer, let’s be honest) in all of California. And that’s not just because the Grand Tasting is so awesome. There are several events – dozens, in fact – that make this not just a tasting but a tasting experience. It goes from Wednesday through Sunday, Nov. 14-18. It’s this same weekend every year, by the way.
I’m attending five events during three days, starting with a warm-up party at the Searsucker Bar in the Gaslamp District on Thursday night. And things really pick up on Friday, when I do back-to–back-to=back parties: A Belgian beer tasting paired with food followed immediately by a cocktail-making demonstration followed immediately by the big Friday night event, a huge wine and beer tasting.
This is the schedule of an SEC football team, like taking on LSU, Florida and Alabama on successive Saturdays. Once needs to be ready and in shape to handle it. And it’s all fun.
Actually, it’s more than “just” fun. It’s blast.
