Shock Top, Goose Island Among Taps At Sept. 20-22 Event

Lobsters and beer go together like water and waves, yet this takes it to a new beer-lovers level.
The 2013 Redondo Beach Lobster Festival – Sept. 20-22 at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach, CA – includes a craft beer festival. It features more than a dozen selections. Some of the beers are:
• Shock Top Lemon Shandy
• Shock Top Belgian White
• Shock Top Raspberry Wheat
• Shock Top Honeycrisp Apple Wheat
• Good Island Honker’s Ale
• Goose Island IPA
• 312 English Summer Ale
• Kolsch
This beer lover will be drinking mostly the Goose Island Honker’s Ale and mixing in a few IPAs.
And, of course, there will be Budwieser and Bud Light for those who prefer more traditional pours.
But that’s not all. The 2013 Lobster Festival also is bringing in live music than ever before to the three-day event. A total of 14 bands are taking the stage, including Common Sense on Friday (6-7 p.m.), followed by punk and rock/reggae performers, a Bruce Springsteen cover band followed by a Journey cover band on Saturday (7-10:30 p.m.), and three bands on Sunday (1-7:30 p.m.).

And, of course, there are the live Maine lobsters flown in daily. Or, if you prefer turf rather than (or along with) surf, there’s a pretty good steak dinner.
Admission is $15 plus, of course, food and drink.
Seaside Lagoon is located off Harbor Drive adjacent to King Harbor in Redondo Beach. There’s parking but most local singles will be arriving beach-style on bicycles.
