Sure, you can get dad a tie or take him golfing for Father’s Day. But what about loosening the knot a bit or going to the 19th hole as a bonus gift?
Here are four “dad drinks,” cocktails for Father’s Day with recipes using high-end Ketel One Vodka and Zacapa rum.
Ketel One Vodka’s Marvelous Mule is a twist on the classic cocktail, adding spiced honey and peach bitters. Meanwhile, Zacapa Rum’s Zacapa Sour, which also plays into those citrus notes. There is also the Ketel One Vodka Bloody Mary and a twist on a classic cocktail, the Zacapa Old Fashioned.
Ketel One Mule
RECIPE
1 1/2 oz Ketel One Family Made Vodka
3 /4 oz spiced honey*
3 /4 oz fresh lime juice
2 1/2 oz Fever Tree ginger beer
3 dashes Bittered Sling Peach Bitters
20 drops 20% saline solution
PREP
Add all ingredients to a mule mug.
Stir to combine and top off with ice.
Add fresh mint sprig and lemongrass tops for garnish.

8 oz wildflower honey
8 oz water
3 bags ginger turmeric tea
30 grams chopped lemongrass stalks
Combine all ingredients in a pot, steep for 15 minutes over low heat on stovetop, do not boil.
Zacapa Sour
INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz Zacapa No. 23
0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
0.75 oz Simple Syrup
Garnish: Edible Flowers
Glass: Coupe
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice.
Shake well and strain into a coupe glass and garnish with edible flowers.
Ketel One Vodka Bloody Mary
INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz. Ketel One® Vodka Vodka
3 oz. Ketel One Bloody Mary Base (recipe below)
Base Ingredients:
1L Tomato juice
4 oz. Lemon juice
4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Black pepper
1 tsp. Smoked paprika
5 tbsp. Horseradish
3 Dashes Worcestershire sauce
7-10 Dashes hot sauce
METHOD
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass.
Shake with ice and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.
Garnish with a celery stalk, olive, tomato, and cracked pepper and lemon wedge to serve.
Zacapa Old Fashioned
INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz Zacapa No. 23
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Sugar Cube
Splash of Water
Garnish: Orange Twist
Glass: Rocks
DIRECTIONS
Combine bitters, sugar cube and splash of water into rocks glass and stir to combine.
Add Zacapa No. 23 and large ice cube to glass and stir.
Garnish with an orange twist.
