Study Shows Benefits For Those With Type 2 Diabetes

A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine provided another boost for red wine and it’s health benefits.
It revealed that a glass of red wine could be good for people with Type 2 diabetes.
A two-year study by Israeli researchers involved 224 people being given mineral water, red wine and white wine consumed with a Mediterranean meal and the winners were those who took red wine.
They increased their “good” cholesterol by abut 10% while significantly decreasing their ratio of total cholesterol.
Red wine has had several studies show that a glass or two a day is good for the health, the heart and overall lifestyle.
Naturally, as this latest study points out, healthy eating also plays a part in these positive results. The people in this study ate a Mediterranean diet, not at McDonald’s.
It’s also interesting to note that the white wine did not produce similar results.
But red, red wine, it’s fine. And we’ll drink to that, of course.
