Cheers to the Boston Bruins Who Celebrate Stanley Cup Championship in Grand Style
Obviously, I’ve not been giving hockey players enough credit. Because these guys can party!
The Boston Bruins ran up a $156,000 bar tab at a Connecticut casino to celebrate winning the Stanley Cup.
The total, one player said, “was was skewed a bit by the $100,000 bottle of champagne. But, hey, how often do you win the Stanley Cup?”
Gotta love that attitude!
It’s tradition for hockey players to go out with the actual trophy.
Normally, individual players get it for a while and they can take it to any place they desire. I once drank out of it in a bar in Manhattan Beach, CA.
But apparently, several players took it out like a high-priced date soon after winning the NHL Championship. They chose the Foxwoods Casino.
And while it’s not Vegas, they acted like high-rollers in Sin City, buying a Vegas-style bottle of bubbly that cost a hundred grand, shots, and $600 of Bud Light. Now that’s a great night!
The players are not cheap, either. The bill included the tip. A $25,000 tip!
So if you ever see a hockey player in a bar, give him a big “cheers.” And stand next to him – or them – for they may buy you a Bud Light. Or several of them!
