Singles Bars Brings Out The Differences In Men And Women
I am always baffled when girls say they don’t understand guys.
We are easier to read than a Facebook post. Twitter? We don’t need 140 characters. Sixteen will do just fine.
“Wanna have sex!?”
There’s a funny joke about what a girl should to do win over a guy. The punchline is “show up naked. And bring beer.”
It gets a laugh, but it’s true.
Girls are complicated and men are simple. Girls are emotional and guys are horny.
This causes some interesting situations in singles bars. Here’s one of my favorite examples:
I was with a couple of female friends – at a fun, mostly singles bar – when we encountered a friendly dude. As the girls were just friends and I like meeting fun people, I invited him to join us. The girls paid him no attention and it was up to me to carry the on conversation. I was trying to pimp for the dude but after not too long he understandably, and politely, excused himself and walked out the door. No doubt he was going to another bar to try and meet other women.
And as soon as he was out of earshot, one of the girls yelled out; “We damn. I can’t believe he left!”
I was befuddled. She had not shown him the least bit of interest, yet was mad he departed. As a reporter, I probed.
“I don’t understand,” she complained. “I gave him all the hints and he just walked away.”
Hints? What hints? She didn’t say more than 10 words to him!
She mentioned something about playing with her hair and a few other things that, of course, went right over my head. This resulted in an elbow in the ribs.
“Listen,” I said to her. “Guys don’t take hints. We don’t understand them. You have to hit us over the head with a rubber mallet. Tell us exactly what you want; if you like us, tell us. Don’t give hints.”
So, gals, tell us what you want. Either that or show up naked. And don’t forget the beer.
