Commission Giving Away Trips, Prizes And Merchandise
Here’s a big cheers to the New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets Commission.
It is holding a multi-month promotion called the Summer Fun Tour which gives away not just merchandise but prizes and trips. The big prize is an Iron 883 model Harley Davidson. There is also trip for two a Napa Valley winery (at the Francis Ford Cop0lla winery, no less) Puerto Rico, the Omni Mount Washington Resort and VIP passes for the PGA Tour event in Boston.
All this from the state’s liquor commission!
I’ve always thought of state liquor commissions as being organizations that take pleasure in making life miserable for bars and restaurants. That, in turn, punishing drinkers with silly laws and restrictions.
Certainly, that’s the case in California and especially Hawaii.
In the latter, the ABC Board will not let you order two drinks at a time, requires you must finish one before getting another one, you can’t order a shot with a mixed drink, and other laws that are confusing to tourists and serve no purpose except to provide potential revenue-generating fines from violating liquor-serving establishments.
But not in New Hampshire!
The Summer Fun Tour also involves a branded vehicle going to places giving out gifts, as well as making appearances with bars offering samples of Bacardi rum drinks.
“The New Hampshire Liquor Commission is committed to developing innovative programs and forging creative partnerships in order to engage new audiences, increase sales and deliver results for New Hampshire taxpayers,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph Mollica. “The Summer Fun Tour is a prime example of that. Last year’s campaign produced impressive results, contributing to record in sales last fiscal year. This year’s campaign is bigger and better, with more tour stops, greater savings and superior prizes.”
