Parrotheads Instead To Flock To Charlotte Plus Dallas For Memorial Day Weekend

The Jazzfest lineup has been announced and it does not include Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band. Buffett has played there many times in the past, and of course loves New Orleans, but he’s not a regular at Jazzfest. That’s why when he’s there, its a real treat.
(Editor’s note: Since this article was written, Buffett was added to the lineup of those playing tribute to Allen Toussaint, which has led PubClub to speculate that Jimmy will be playing a bar in New Orleans during Jazzfest.)
Buffett has, however, started to slowly present his 2016 tour schedule. As of this writing, he has shows scheduled for Virginia Beach, Birmingham, Raleigh, Charlotte and Dallas.
The latter is taking place on May 28, by the way, which is Memorial Day Weekend. That promises to be an epic time; with boat parties big in Texas that time of the year there’s sure to be a lot of boat drinks consumed at that show.
Buffett is certainly going where it’s warm for Memorial Day Weekend this year. The 28th is a Saturday, by the way.
Here are the current tour dates and locations for Buffett’s 2016 tour:
• April 16 – Virginia Beach, Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater
• April 19 – Birmingham, Oak Mountain Theater
• April 21 – Raleigh, Walnut Creek Amphitheater
• April 23 – Charlotte, PNC Music Pavilion
• April 28 – Frisco, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth), Toyota Stadium
So far, there’s no name for this tour. Buffett traditionally releases the schedule in bits and pieces and it usually starts in Florida in February or March. From there, it makes its way up to the East Coast and the Midwest and then Las Vegas.
Southern California used to be a regular stop and in 2015, he made an epic return to Irvine Meadows in the Los Angeles area.
