Before Jimmy Buffett left the Earth last September, he told those around him to “keep the party going,” and that is exactly what the Margaritaville at Sea cruise ship will be doing when it launches in June.
It will have live music, three pool bars (one only for adults), production shows and what executives are calling “themed experiences.” Setting sail for the first time on June 14 out of Tampa, Margaritaville at Sea is a four-night cruise with a stop in Cozumel, Mexico.
“The lineup of entertainment we’ve created is going to blow guests away as the highlight of their experience onboard the Islander,” said Karen Maybury, Vice President of Entertainment at Margaritaville at Sea. “Live music is the heartbeat of the ship, providing a breezy soundtrack to every voyage, and our other offerings blend familiar favorites with exciting new elements from Tampa, Key West, Mexico, and the Caribbean to immerse our guests in the Margaritaville lifestyle.”
Taking center stage on the Islander will be two original, scripted, live production shows:
- Conky Tonkin’ at Sea – Headliners Bella, Lenny and the gang put on a boot-stomping, feather-shaking virtual trip to Nashville in this country-themed spectacular at sea. The surprise-filled musical journey features the perfect mash-up of contemporary and classic country favorites that will have the crowd singing along and dancing the night away.
- Caribbean Heat Remix – An amplified version of a Margaritaville at Sea fan favorite, this show is a celebration of the colorful, sensual, and alluring world of Caribbean Heat through electrifying dance, acrobatics, and the hypnotic beats of Key West and Mexico.
To complement the two live shows, the Islander will feature two themed experiences:
- Boots and Bubbles (Dress to Impress) – Saddle up for an unforgettable evening at sea as people pull on their best boots for an evening of coastal country with a dash of elegance. The night includes a captain’s margarita toast, high-energy entertainment including Conky Tonkin’ at Sea, themed dining and cocktail menus inspired by champagne and bourbon, line dancing classes, and other activities.
- Rock the Trop – This yacht rock extravaganza combines tropical vibes with rock ’n’ roll energy. During the day, it’s a family-friendly event with a Parrot Quest scavenger hunt, character meet-and-greets and more. But by night it’s all adults as deck has a DJ, late-night poolside bites, themed dining and cocktail menus, a nightclub variety act and headliner production of Caribbean Heat Remix.
Rounding out the entertainment lineup is the Islander’s pool decks, which offer three distinctive settings. There’s the energetic party vibe at the LandShark Pool, the laid-back 5 o’Clock Somewhere Pool with music and bites and the ultra-relaxed, adults-only (18+) retreat at The Tiki Pool.
Margaritaville at Sea Islander’s 12 passenger decks accommodate 2,650 passengers. Currently undergoing an extensive transformation, Islander will feature 1,105 fully redesigned staterooms with custom styling reminiscent of the sand, sea and sky and all new furnishings including Margaritaville’s signature bedding, pillows, and linens. With more than 700 Breezy Balcony staterooms, Grand Terrace Suites, luxurious Corner Suites, and ultra-exclusive Islander Signature Suites, couples, families, and friends alike can chase the sunset from their spacious balconies with endless gulf breezes.
The ship will feature a soaring 14-story atrium with a unique nautical Margaritaville flip flop and a lively atrium bar with three multi-story floating margarita glass chandeliers. Innovations like the only three-story poolside LandShark Bar at Sea and a Margaritaville-inspired cornhole and mini-golf course. Restaurants include JWB Prime Steakhouse and the Mexican Cutie Cantina.
The 250,000+ people who have been on the Palm Beach-based Margaritaville at Sea Paradise will find notice familiar favorites, including Paradise Pickleball at Sea, Frank and Lola’s Pizzeria, Margaritaville Coffee Shop, and Cheeseburger in Paradise, surrounded by unforgettable new spaces and experiences to explore.
