Top Happenings in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach & Redondo Beach
The Party Report is brought to you by Kona Brewing, which has the most rockin’ bar at the LA County Fair, the Longboard Bar featuring ‘80s cover bands that make going there a blast! This is something that is highly recommended for a Friday or Saturday night in September.
This, by the way, is your PubClub.com Party Tip of the Week!
From one party to another! On the heels of Labor Day Weekend, Fiesta Hermosa and a really fun bike bar crawl now we can look forward to football season, a party bus to a huge music festival, an end-of-summer party (tho we know the summer really never ends here) and Oktoberfest!
But first, check out this video from the bike bar crawl this past Sunday. There were 50+ people, all with noisemakers, accompanied by a guy towing a boombox, from Pat’s to Naja’s to HBYC to the beer garden. The most fun time was when the entire group stopped on The Strand in Redondo Beach and everyone hopped up and started dancing on a platform!
SATURDAY: 310YP END OF SUMMER PARTY
A full bar with live music & dancing at Big Door Studios in El Segundo, from 7-midnight. This is a dressy (dressy for the South Bay anyway) affair and it’s a ticketed event.
SOUTH BAY OKTOBERFEST TICKETS ARE ON SALE
The inaugural South Bay Oktoberfest is being held Saturday, Rocktober 8 at Bay Club Redondo. Think of it as the fall version – with an Oktoberfest twist – to the wine & beer festival held in May. That event sold out quickly so don’t delay to get your tickets!

FRIDAY: OKTOBERFEST ALPINE VILLAGE
And speaking of Oktoberfest, the real thing happens Sept. 17-Oct. 3 in the huge bierhalls of Munich. It’s awesome; frankly I highly recommend it to everyone. The beirhalls are the size of airplane hangers and you really do get brews in those huge (and heavy) all-glass 1-liter mugs. If you’re going or ever want to go, here’s all you need to know about the beer tents, which ones are the best, party tips, the works!

Locally, Alpine Village Oktoberfest opens this Friday. Old World in Huntington Beach is about half the size but it’s more fun because it’s more intimate and – frankly – a bit wilder. There’s also a fun Oktoberfest in Big Bear.
NFL IS BACK
It all starts Thursday with Carolina at the Peyton-less Denver Broncos. There are two Monday Night games, including the Rams at the 49ers.
PubClub.com will go scout out the game-watching bars but I do know the Eagles go to Chelsea Pub, the Steelers to Mickey McColgan’s, the Seahawks to Hermosa Saloon (with the Back Stage in Culver City being THE Seahawks bar in L.A.), the Patriots to The Deck and, of course, fans of just about every team to Sharkeez and also Molloy’s and American Junkie, especially for those bottomless mimosa breakfasts for the early games.
BARLEY BAND JIMMY KAABOO PARTY BUS
If you’re able get the day off on Friday, Sept. 16, then jump on this party bus to KAABOO Del Mar with Barley band! It’s just $24 from Hermosa – a screamin’ deal – and $119 for the ticket to this all-day and into-the-night music festival at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in North County San Diego.
Barley plays in the afternoon as a sort of warmup band for Jimmy Buffett that night! The bus will stay thru Buffett, of course. Sing up here under Party Bus!
PUBCLUB.COM JIMMY BUFFETT PARTY BUS
I’m also taking signups for the PubClub.com Party Bus to the Buffett show Oct. 22 at Irvine Meadows. This is an epic event; he’s back at Irvine for a Saturday and this is, quite simply not to be missed for those who love to party! Veterans know this to be the case. The cost for the bus is $30 for girls, $35 for guys and it’s first-come first-serve! So e-mail me to save your seats!!!
A NEW TACO TUESDAY DESTINATION
We have great places for Taco Tuesdays in the South Bay and now there’s one more, in an unlikely location. It’s Bay Club in El Segundo/Manhattan Beach. $2 tacos, $3 craft beers and live music. 5-7:30 p.m.
