Get ready folks, it’s a full weekend in the Beach Cities and it’s also the opening weekend of college football! We’ve had a great summer with the beach concerts in Hermosa, the awesome Trump Wine & Beer Festival, the fun of Smackfest, the 4th of July and our normal beach lifestyle throughout the South Bay.
Now we must transition to fall and quite frankly, I’m not really ready for it. This means I’ll be spending my Saturdays glued to the TV having near heart attacks for 12 hours watching college football – hoping my team wins and a bunch of others ranked near my team lose. All the while, tho, with a cold Kona nearby to quench my thirst.
THURSDAY – 310YP MIXER
This month’s mixer is at Standing Room, from 6-9. Happy Hour has been extended until 7. And that’s about when most people show up; by 8 the place is jumping with socializing and business mingling. This is a free event/
FRIDAY – YOGA GLOW PARTY & WINE TASTING
Here’s a cool event that will have you, well glowing – a yoga glow party! Beach Cities Yoga on Hermosa Ave. (in the little shopping plaza where the Cal Beach Sushi and the wild bar Ibiza used to be located for you South Bay veterans) is having a neon glow yoga class, followed by a wine tasting. The yoga class begins at 7:15 (space is limited!) and the wine tasting is from 7:30-9. It’s $20 for the yoga – or spend $30 and get a month’s membership – and $15 for wine tasting. SUNDAY – BIKE RIDE PUB CRAWL TO THE BEER GARDEN
Get primed up for the Fiesta Hermosa beer garden with the 7th annual Deuce to Deuce Bike Bar Crawl. Meet at Pat’s Cocktails on PCH in Redondo (at Ave F, east side of the street), then bike to Naja’s, HBYC (home of great burgers) and then to the beer garden.
ALL WEEKEND – FIESTA HERMOSA
Here’s the lineup of bands in both the beer garden and on the main stage at the pier. It includes Jeremy Buck and the Bang, an instrumental surf band, plus tribute bands to the Beatles, Doors & Neil Diamond.
