Wow, I Didn’t Know Anything Could Be This Beautiful!
I spent the morning reorganizing the RAV4, our tow vehicle that we also use to go to gigs when we are parked in an RV site in the Big Eagle.
The other day I bought a spare tire when we had a blowout; I felt a little bump-bump while driving home from Eugene. I looked the tire on the opposite side we had a blowout on last week and decided the tread was way worse than the new spare we bought so I’d switched them.
So glad I did, too.
We’re in Oregon now and decided to go exploring and drive north on the coast.
Wow!
I never knew anything could be so breathtakingly beautiful. The video probably doesn’t do it justice.
We headed north from Florence thru Siuslaw then Heceta and on to Yachats (pronounced YAH-hots). I destroyed that pronunciation on the video! There aren’t enough words to describe how beautiful this coast is here, so watch the video and take it all in for yourself.
Back To Playing In Florida
Looks like we’ll be relocating (again) to Florida.
Got a call from my buddy Rob Romans in Destin. I got some news about my dad and he will be released from physical rehab sometime this year. He still can only walk a very small distance with the help of a walker and a spotter but he is at least somewhat improving slowly.
We have decided that after the tour we will most likely move back into the house in Destin and be my dad’s caretakers. He is very excited. We will continue touring the summers and play a lot on the west coast of Florida in the winter. We’ll figure it out as we go, which is kind of the way musicians operate on the road anyway.
I have a ton of gigs booked in St Pete and Punta Gorda. So get ready!
I spoke with Rob at great length about the music scene in Destin and he has assured me that it’s stronger than ever, which is always good news for a musician looking to play gigs.
I look forward to playing some of the old haunts I used to play when I lived in this part of the Florida panhandle along the Gulf Coast.
