Bloggers Johnny Jet & Lee Abbamonte Take Travelers On Quick Tours Of Cities
By Kevin Wilkerson, PubClub.com Travel Blogger
Laying low while you’re on a layover?
Not if you’re an adventurous traveler, heck no. You’re on the move, and two travel experts have launched a video series on YouTube to give you tips on places to go if you’ve got long layovers – including overnight – in key cities around the world.
Bloggers Johnny Jet & Lee Abbamonte present “The Layovers,” sponsored by travel insurance company Allianz Global Assistance. Currently, there’s only one episode (on Los Angeles), but others are going to follow, most likely New York City and Sydney.
If the L.A., show is any indication, you’ll get a whirlwind tour of cool places to visit and eat from a couple of cool dudes in a fast-moving 10 minutes. (For where to drink and any events or festivals taking place, you can, of course, go to PubClub.com).
Los Angeles offers a ton to do if you’re got just a few hours or a whole day to kill, and “The Layovers” hits the highlights. For instance, for a short layover, Johnny Jet recommends his place of residence, Manhattan Beach, just 10 minutes south of LAX.
Abbamonte –an East Coaster who adapts well to SoCal as he’s dressed in shorts during the show – goes a bit further north up the coast to Santa Monica and crazy Venice Beach, as well as inland to Hollywood Blvd., as well as to the Hollywood sign.
One really cool thing they point out to do – for those with a nice budget to burn – it to take a helicopter ride around L.A. Celebrity Helicopters will pick you up at any location (including at LAX) and whip you around the city in an adventure that will have you still buzzing when you strap yourself back into your airline seat.
