Men’s underwear comes in several styles, and most men often settle on one style of underwear and keep wearing that same style for a long time. While some men enjoy briefs’ comfort and security, others prefer the freedom of boxers and yet many men prefer boxer briefs. A big percentage of all underwear sold today are either briefs or boxer briefs.
Instead of wearing the same underwear style every day, understanding several types of men’s undergarments can help you wear a different style when traveling, working out at the gym or when wearing trim denim or trousers.
Thongs, Bikinis, and G-Strings
Most men enjoy the feel and look of a thong, but not everybody. Typically, this style often works best for men with exceptionally well-sculpted bodies who relish the look of it. The bikini is a smaller version of the brief. Like a jockstrap, when you put on the bikini, they expose the entire thigh, but it covers the buttocks with a small front pouch. The thong is almost similar to the bikini, but it offers a confined space in the front connected by thin fabric strips, which leaves your buttocks exposed. The G-string is a small style of the thong that exposes much skin as possible. In most cases, they are made of spandex or nylon. Due to the material used, they tend to be slightly more expensive than the other styles.
Briefs
Briefs usually have an elastic waistband, without a leg, and have minimal coverage. They often offer a Y-shaped fly in the front. Briefs have enough fabric for full coverage from the waist to the top of the thigh. It also offers complete coverage of the buttocks. Briefs provide the best support and are less prone to bunching or rising. They are one of the most preferred choices for men who opt to wear tighter pants or low-rise pants. They are often used by men who work at a desk all day because they end in the natural crease. There are lower rise pants such as jeans becoming more popular with men and mid-rise and low-rise briefs that sit at the belly button or below the waist.
Boxer Shorts
Boxer shorts are well suited for pleated pants and sleeping. They are loose, offering little support. They usually have an elastic waistband with a button fly and straight leg openings with a short inseam. They often have loose and airy, usually made of absorbent cotton and Hard-wearing
Boxer Briefs and Trunks
Boxer briefs represent all the best of both types of underwear. They are designed like a tapered boxer with the snug and supportive fit of the briefs. Just like a jockstrap, boxer briefs usually maintain their comfortable fit throughout the day. They are the best for physical activity and look good even if you are not in your best shape. They are also very good for workouts at the gym; hence it makes sense to put them on if you know you will work out that day. It is the best of both worlds and works under all kinds of pants. They are perfect for workouts, especially the compression boxer briefs.
