Volleyball Tournament In Italy Features 2,500 Teams & A Nightlife Experience
More than 20,000 people will be on the beach on the Veneto coast dancing to a DJ in a scene that looks like a mega Vegas nightclub on the sand.
It’s all part of the mega beach volleyball tournament, taking place Sept. 20-22, which features a whopping 2,499 teams and more than 10,000 athletes competing on 250 courts. The beach parties are Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21 & 22. There are players and the public is invited to watch the games and take part in the party scene and the parties.
In the field is iconic Italian volleyball player Maurizia Cacciatori, “Tsar” Ivan Zaytsev, Italian National team volleyball player Filippo Lanza and Italian National team member and silver medalist at the 2015 European beach volleyball Alex Ranghieri.
Other top world players are also in the tournament, which has prize money of 52,000 Euros. Both men and women’s teams are in the field.
“I fell in love with the Beach Volley Marathon energy: seeing hundreds of volleyballs and hands up in the sky during the games and the parties leaves you breathless,” said player Rachele Sangiuliano. “Bibione is an event I cannot miss.”
Mizuno, the global Japanese sports brand, is the title sponsor for the fifth consecutive year.
