49th Event Features Sting & Peter Gabriel As Headliners
Huge music festivals are one of the biggest trends in nightlife now, but they always come with huge price tags for tickets – $300 and up to nearly $1,000 for “Oldchella” this fall in Southern California.
But not so at Festival d’été de Québec, Canada’s largest outdoor music festival. This 11-day festival running from July 7-17 is selling tickets for just $80 UAD.
And the 2016 event opens with Sting and Peter Gabriel and concludes with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
In between, the Festival features 1,000 artists in 300 performances featuring Sheryl Crow, Duran Duran, Selena Gomez, Ice Cube, Flo Rida, Kaskade, The Lumineers, Brad Paisley, Rammstein, Alessia Cara, Brandi Carlile, The Cult, Bryan Ferry, Jay-Jay Johanson, The Tallest Man on Earth, Tal Wilkenfeld, Neil Finn of Crowded House, Helsinki Cotonou Ensemble, Keys N Krates, Half Moon Run, X Ambassadors George Thorogood & The Destroyers, along with hundreds of other performers from around the globe.
Tickets are $100 CDN, which is about $80 in U.S. dollars.
Concerts range from pop, rock, and folk to electro, hip-hop and world music and takes place in picturesque Québec City at 10 indoor and outdoor venues including the Bell Stage, one of North America’s biggest outdoor stages, located in a historic battlefield park overlooking the St. Lawrence River.
FREE CONCERTS, STREET ART, AND ACTIVITIES
The Hydro-Quebec Stage and the Fibe Stage at the Cœur du FEQ (Heart of FEQ) site present numerous free daily performances. Cœur du FEQ is the place to go to see what’s happening during the Festival.
It features young and promising artists such as The Strumbellas, known for their hit song, Spirits; the talented young folksinger Safia Nolin; and many other performers. Newly expanded and revamped, it’s the perfect place to meet up for drinks with friends, grab a bite or just enjoy live music in a cool setting.
The street arts program features a large number of Québec artists representing a wide range of genres: stilt walkers, acrobats, music, dance, humor, bizarre characters and interaction with the public.

Festival Passes can be purchased online at nfofestival.com and by phone at 1-855-800-3347 (toll-free), with a limit of eight passes per transaction. They will also be available at the box office during the Festival, pending availability.
