It’s not exactly Evil Knievel attempting to jump over the fountains – although Robbie Knievel will be there – but there’s a thrill-seekers stunt taking place at Caesars Palace during the 4th of July Weekend in Las Vegas.

The Red Bull Air Force is jumping as part of the city’s Independence Day Weekend Block Party, and will land on The Strip in front of  Caesars Palace.

The stunt will take place on Sunday, July 3, at 9 p.m. This will be followed by a 13 1/2-minute fireworks show directly above the hotel’s newly-redesigned Julius Tower. All this is free and open to the public and remember folks, you can have drinks while on and along The Strip in Vegas.

The event begins at 8 with performances by “American Idol” season five winner Taylor Hicks, cast members from Absinthe and the UNLV “Star of Nevada” Marching Band. This takes place on a stage built over the famous fountains at Caesars Palace.

The ones Evil Knievel failed to clear, by the way, in 1967 that ended his career. Robbie successfully made the jump in 1989.

The Red Bull Air Force will be soaring over the fountains, wearing illuminated wingsuits equipped with red, white and blue LED lights.

Caesars Palace is celebrating is 50th anniversary this year and this is one of the many events happening at the famed hotel and casino this summer.

Also, OMNIA Nightclub is opening its doors early on Sunday as it hosts a fireworks viewing party on its terrace.  Resident DJ Mikey Francis.is spinning and there will be $18 specialty Independence Day themed cocktails.

We want to take this opportunity to honor America, celebrate our 50 years and thank everyone who has ever visited our property,” says Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner. “
