15% Of Food & Drink Tab Donated To Local Eduction Foundations
As a local, Michael Zislis knows the pulse of the South Bay community.
The owner of Shade Hotels, as well as a few top-end local restaurants, also knows how to give back to the community in a way that’s true to the culture of these Los Angeles Beach Cities.
He’s combined cocktails with culture with the launch of “Back To School Night” at the lounge inside Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. On Thursday nighrs, zinc@shade will donate 15% of each customer’s check from 6 p.m.-close to the local education foundation of their choice.
Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, and Peninsula education foundations will benefit from this program.
“There is an incredible amount of support for the schools in the South Bay, and we want to honor that support,” Zislis said.
“Back to School Night at zinc@shade gives friends, family and co-workers a great reason to get together for a good time and a good cause, knowing that a percentage of their check will help local schools. We are excited to see which Ed Foundation gets the most support.”
The lounge, a popular gathering spot for locals and also for those staying at the hotel, is an open-air bar with couches designed for sitting back, relaxing, mingling and having a few drinks. A patio on the side looks out over the peaceful Metlox Plaza.
In addition to several craft beers on tap and a wide range of cocktails, the there’s also a full food menu from appetizers to entrees at the lounge.
It’s located at the “top” of downtown Manhattan Beach, about six blocks from the pier up Manhattan Beach Blvd.
