Mykonos, Ios And Santorini Top Places To Travel In Greece
There’s still paradise on Paradise Beach, a tropical vibe in the Tropical Bar and a far out time at the Far Out Cafe.
The calendar may say September but PubClub.com says the party is still on in the Greek Islands.
In fact, September is nearly as lively as June. It’s a great time to go because you can still meet people from all over the world, the Greeks are taking a sign of relief at again surviving the Italian invasion of August and prices are off-season low.
The beaches have people but are not crowded the restaurants and bars are busy but not packed and you can get on a ferry without at your leisure rather than having to plan ahead of time.
I’ve been to Mykonos and Santorini in June, July, into August and also in September. While July is my favorite time – it’s prime party time – I really enjoyed September. That’s because I could go anywhere I wanted at any time without having to worry about lines or crowding up to a bar to get a drink or waiting to get a seat at a place to eat.
I could come and go as I pleased and while the action was not as wild as it is in July, there was certainly enough happening to keep me occupied and happy. I was able to meet and mingle with locals and the bar owners and one, who runs my favorite spot in the islands, the Skandinavian bar on Mykonos, pretty much opened up the bar to me because of what I’ve written on PubClub.
Did I mention the Greeks are great hosts??
While on this trip, I did not make it to Ios, I did talk to other who had a “far out” time at the Far Out Cafe. If you’ve not been to Ios, that’s the afternoon hangout bar, the equivalent of Paradise Beach on Mykonos. But I did go to Santorini and spend my sunsets – and a lot of party time at night – at Tropical Bar.
So if you’re ever considering going to Greece in September and wondering what it’s like, this islands veteran will tell you its good and bordering in great.
