Raise your wine glass, join your buddies for a pint or hoist a cocktail in a cheers and celebration.

Good news San Diego nightlife seekers: the bars and wineries are re-opening this weekend.

Somewhat hidden in the county’s announcement that pools, gyms, museums, galleries, aquariums, card rooms (card rooms!?)  were allowed to re-open Friday, June 12, was that it also includes bars and wineries.

While you’ve been able to get wine, beers and cocktails since restaurants re-opened the end of May, this announcement means that places that do not serve food can be pouring alcoholic drinks. It should also mean that you do not have to order food when you get a drink in a bar/restaurant.

The standard rules still apply to bars and wineries. And they are that patrons are required to wear a mask when entering and going to the restroom, tables are spaced at 6-foot intervals, you must be seated while at the bar or wine tasting room, and the social distancing distance must be kept between customers.

There’s no dancing at the bars, something that will put a crimp in some people’s nightlife activities. Nightclubs must still remain closed because of the continued ban on large gatherings.

Earlier in the week, the county re-opened the boardwalks and piers at the beaches. And, of course, San Diego’s beach cities have plenty of bars for daytime and nighttime drinking entertainment.

Starting next Friday, Little Italy will be blocking off a part of India Street to allow for outdoor dining in the street.

PubClub.com will continue to update this article and post news stories relating to news and information pertaining to bars, restaurants and nightlife.
